Thank you for coming to my website. I am proud to be a Certified Health and Wellness Coach through the Wellcoaches (R) School of Coaching, a Certified Personal Trainer through The American Council on Exercise, a Certified Nutrition and Fitness Trainer, and a Certified Life Coach among other certifications.
After losing much of my family to heart disease, I needed to take control of my health and learn how I could best take care of my family. I went back to college and became certified as a nutrition and fitness instructor. Upon learning that 80-90% of diseases – including type 2 diabetes and heart disease- the number one killer in America – are preventable through lifestyle changes, I knew that I had to spread the message: You Have the Power to Be Healthy! So I become a Health Coach, empowering others to live a healthy and happy life. For the past twenty five years, I have researched and written about healthy living, developed heart healthy recipes, taught fitness and healthy cooking classes, healthy lifestyle workshops and diabetes prevention classes.
I am most proud of my role as a wife and mother of two healthy sons and together with my husband of thirty years, we have created a healthy lifestyle for our family on five acres in the country, complete with a vegetable garden, herb garden and orchard. Besides canning and cooking, my favorite hobbies are hiking, walking in nature, kayaking and entertaining friends and family.
